Cystic Thyroid Nodule with Tracheal Compression
Rapidly growing cystic thyroid nodule with tracheal compression symptoms.  Brown fluid was aspirated but it refilled.
Axial CT scan showing a large cyst compressing the right lobe of the thyroid and displacing the trachea to the left.
Sagittal CT scan reconstruction showing the large thyroid cyst.
Coronal CT scan showing the thyroid cyst displacing the trachea to the left and slightly narrowing its lumen.
Roughly, 1/3 of thyroid nodules are cystic and 2/3 are solid.
