This page was last updated: October 4, 2014
This 63 year-old  woman presented with bilateral nasal obstruction.

On nasal endoscopy, a fleshy  nasopharyngeal tumor is noted.  The tumor is soft, bleeds easily and protrudes through the posterior choanae into the nasal cavities, bilaterally.

The patient had previously been treated for lymphoma in the right inguinal region.

Histologic diagnosis:  Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma
Right nasal endoscopy.
Left nasal endoscopy.
The axial CT scan photograph below shows a soft tissue mass resembling adenoids,  arising from the vault of the nasopharynx.  This mass protrudes into both nasal cavities, completely obstructing the airway.
Axial CT slice showing the lymphoma protruding into the nose on either side of the vomer.
This axial CT slice was taken at a lower level.  It shows the inferior portion of the lymphoma.
