Abscess of Nasal Vestibule (Furunculosis)
Abscess of the left nasal vestibule / Furunculosis
These superficial abscesses often occur in the nasal vestibule. They involve hair follicles and cause severe pain, erythema, and swelling. They are usually caused by Staph. aureus. Treatment consists of antibiotics and warm compresses. Occasionally, Incision and drainage may become necessary. If untreated, serious complications could result (e.g. cavernous sinus thrombosis).

This abscess is pointing and starting to drain spontaneously.
