Panorex showing two fractures of the mandible, one running obliquely across the symphysis and the other from the sigmoid notch to the angle.
Intermaxillary fixation screw. Two screws in the maxilla and two in the mandible are joined with wires.
An incison is made in the lower gingivolabial sulcus and the mental nerve is isolated and preserved. The fracture is reduced and stabilized with a compression plate and screws.
An external incison is made below the angle of the mandible and the ascending ramus fracture is also reduced and stabilized with a metal plate and screws.
