Prior to reducing the mandibular fracture, the teeth were brought together and placed in occlusion.
In this patient, Intermaxillary fixation was achieved with four screws, two in the maxilla and two in the mandible. The screws were connected with wires.
This method is faster than the application of arch bars.
OPEN REDUCTION AND INTERNAL FIXATION
The mandible was exposed through an external incision.
Metal plates and screws were used to repair the fracture.
The intermaxillary fixation wires and screws were removed at the end of the procedure.
