Tonsillar Cancer

Home

This patient presented with a left jugulodigastric mass.  Initial work-up did not show the primary tumor.  The mass was removed.  It showed metastatic squamous cell carcinoma inside a lymph node.  Blind biopsies were finally taken from the pharynx. The biopsy from the left lingual tonsil turned out to be positive for squamous cell carcinoma, indicating that this was the primary tumor.
